UVI-HUM, Embodying Nature's Symphony Program is centered around play, music and movement - helping families integrate natural sounds through everyday activities. Promoting healthy brain function & body harmony with interactive story books of animals in natural settings, humming, singing songs & movement with tactile experiences for children of all ages.
Did you know that sounds are more than just auditory sensations? Sounds are frequencies that resonate with us on a cellular level, impacting our entire being. Hearing, being the first sense to develop in the womb and the last to fade away, underscores the profound connection between sound and our existence. The UVI-HUM Program helps people learn how to harness the power of nature's symphony to support lifelong well-being.
How does this unique program work? UVI-HUM's interactive programs have been developed for parents & children of all ages to play & learn together creating music and natural sounds that assist in shifting your physical, mental & spiritual vibrations.
Join UVI-HUM on a journey of exploration, understanding and integration of nature's own wonders. Through hands-on workshops, books, activities and practical tools we strive to help people infuse music, humming and joy into the fabric of everyday life. From prenatal sound and toning classes, to our interactive infant playmat, curricula for school children and meditation workshops for adults, we enjoy working with children of all ages.
UVI-HUM's suite of educational activities are designed to teach children how to connect with the music within them to find their own inner harmony and connect with others, helping them learn how to self regulate and get along with others, while building confidence, self-esteem and a strong foundation for a happy and healthy life.
Supporting a Healing Environment:
UVI activities have been part of the Healing Arts Program at two local Ronald McDonald Houses (RMH) since 2004. Witnessing the profound impact of our activities, one RMH parent even changed her college major to music therapy.
Nancy Maeder, Director of Operations at RMH-Chapel Hill recommends the program to other facilities, saying that it “Helps to ease the fears of children as it offers encouraging words, gentle music and comforting sounds. Parents who have used it say that it makes a dramatic difference in their child and has had a great calming effect.”
The first book in our Embodying Nature's Symphony Program is Down and Around the Pond, teaching children how to connect with the music within themselves and with others.
Featuring UVI the Magical Cricket, Nature's conductor, bringing together Earth's sounds, learn how to listen, really listen, to the symphony of Earth's music and join with your own contribution.
Our narrator, Brae Brae the Bunny, lives in an old Sycamore tree.
Zumi the Frog is the main character in Down and Around the Pond, calling friends to come together and join in down by the pond.
Starting with a simple, grounding beat, building to an all-out jam and body jive as everyone adds their own contribution to build harmony and connect with each other.
Other friends you will meet include a neighborhood Cat, man's best friend-the Dog, two Cows playing Peek-A-Boo, the life story of a bee named Hum Bee, a coyote up on the hill that is keeping guard of his friends and a wise old Owl. Each of these friends also has their own book and set of activities that build upon the foundational lessons of Down and Around the Pond. Come join in!
Please stay tuned for upcoming activities!
